The bald eagle was sitting in the spruce tree keeping a close eye on the three ravens gathered around their feast below.  The eagle had already dined but was unwilling to relinquish his rights to leftovers.  We couldn't make out the object of their feast but it appeared to have washed up and been deposited at the high tide mark.  I looked around for Harry and spotted him already gliding up to the beach with his skirt undone and one leg hanging out of the cockpit.  Harry loves birds.  The eagle, gave one look at this bearded man, wearing a skirt and walking towards the ravens and decided to take flight.  I guess he wasn't sure of the pecking order anymore and did not want to fight with this strange creature that approached him.  The ravens either didn't care or didn't notice Harry as they keep hopping about their feast and tearing off pieces of meat.  Not until Harry was 15 ft from them, did they decide to let Harry have the next few bites.  Close enough now to recognize the object of their meal, Harry turned around, headed back towards his kayak and declared this spot, "Dead Dog Beach".  It was not a pretty site but it was the cycle of nature.  The birds were being what they were created to be, the scavengers of nature.
